The West End Branch Library welcomes our two current Poet Laureates to the library to share their writing, inform the community of the program, inspire creativity and advocate for the City of Richmond.
The City of Richmond announced the Laureates for the 3rd cycle of the program on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Richmond Poetry Fest.

In 2020, the City of Richmond launched the Poet Laureate Program as a way to highlight gifted artists and to use the literary arts to provide support during an unprecedented time. The Program continues now as an affirmation of the important role poetry plays in our city: as a way of bringing people together and as a way of telling our stories.
